vanEE Air Exchangers & Filtration Products

This section is a general overview of vanEE Air Exchangers. The essence of proper ventilation is a continuous flow of clean, fresh air as well as the removal of stale, polluted air. These are also key factors in optimal indoor air quality and good health. There are two types of systems available, depending on your needs. The Heat Recovery Ventilator, and the Energy Recovery Ventilator.

Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV)
In a Heat Recovery Ventilator (also known as an Air Exchanger) a moisture-proof propylene core expels excess humidity that occurs, especially during the heating season, preventing potential health problems, as well as moisture damage to window frames and surrounding walls.

Moisture damage can get very expensive costing thousands of dollars in damage to your home.

The Heat Recovery Air Exchanger brings the outdoor cool air through the core warming it with the stale air you are exhausting.

The Heat Recovery Ventilator replaces stale indoor air with fresh, clean outdoor air. Filters
outdoor pollens and expels indoor pollutants to the outside, exchanging the air in the home.
 
Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV)
An Energy Recovery Ventilator transfers heat and moisture from one airstream to another, and
 is the ideal system to maintain proper humidity levels. Excellent for year-round use and ideal for
homes with air conditioning and high outdoor humidity. Filters outdoor pollens and expels indoor pollutants to the outside, exchanging the air in the home. Energy Recovery Ventilators are
available in only the vanEE Gold Series.
 
How a vanEE Air Exchanger is installed
Not every vanEE Air Exchanger installation is the same. Every home is different and every home
has a different kind of heating system. To clarify how the units are installed in your home we have diagrams outlining the three most common methods of installation.

These images are just guidelines and every installation is different.

Fully Ducted Air Exchanger Installation

Fully Ducted vanEE Air Exchanger Installation
The fully ducted installation is for houses that do not have forced air heating systems. Typically,
this is for homes that have electric baseboard heating, or in-floor water heating systems.

Simplified Air Exchanger Installation

Simplified vanEE Air Exchanger Installation
Simplified air exchanger installations are designed for existing homes that have forced air heating.
The simplified installation is the simplest and easiest method to install an air exchanger into a home where you have ductwork but the house is completely finished.

Exhaust Ducted Air Exchanger Installation

Exhaust Ducted vanEE Air Exchanger Installation

Exhaust ducted systems are similar to the fully ducted system. The only difference is this system is
 for when you have a forced air heating system, not baseboard heat.

The Heat Recovery Ventilator System removes stale, unhealthy air and replaces it with a stream
for fresh air. Its powerful centrifugal blowers bring fresh air into your home and at the same time,
exhaust stale humid air in an equal amount. Both incoming and outgoing airstreams pass
through a heat exchange core where the energy from the exhaust air is efficiently transferred
to the incoming fresh air. An air duct system supplies the fresh air brought in by the ventilator and distributes it throughout your home. Another duct draws the existing stale, humid air back to the ventilator and then exhausts it outdoors.
